Jabil expanded its Asia presence with the addition of a facility in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam on 8 May 2007. Located in Saigon Hi-Tech Park (“SHTP”), the new 55,000 square-feet facility (expandable to 120,000 square feet) was operational in June 2007. While the initial investment will be up to $US 30 million, Jabil expects the location to grow in importance over time and make its total investment in SHTP up to $US 100 million.

In anticipation for growth, Jabil have acquired a piece of land about 3 kilometers from the current site and is building a new modern factory with a size of more than 263,000 square feet. Construction is targeted to be completed and operational by September 2012.
Jabil’s presence in Vietnam created benefits and opportunities to both sides. It helps to develop the company’s global supply chain and at the same time to make Vietnam a more competitively position in the country’s mission to attract high tech investment.
